Senior scientist and project manager that assisted the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Pipeline Safety in developing protocols for identifying areas of unusual sensitivity to oil spills from pipelines (also known as Unusually Sensitive Areas). Unusually Sensitive Areas are being identified with regard to drinking water resources, ecological resources and cultural resources as well as Native American Tribal concerns. Provided the Office of Pipeline Safety with technical, administrative and organizational support on this highly interactive project involving representatives from government, non-governmental organizations, academia and the pipeline industry [1996-1997]. |
